Motivation for Occupation

Contact Information

Motivation For Occupation (M4O) provides Occupational Therapy (OT) services as well as in-home and community services. We work collaboratively with you, the people close to you and other services you are connected with.

We work with you to develop a shared understanding of your goals, strengths and resources, and any possible barriers. By building trust, motivation, and resilience we are here to help you create and live a purposeful, meaningful and self-directed life. M4O will support you at times and locations that are suitable to you.

We know the importance of providing services to assist people to retain their independence and quality of life. That is our aim by providing the following services.

OT Services

OT services help individuals to get back their confidence, feel a sense of purpose in their everyday lives and enable people to engage in activities of daily living. OT services also promote the wellbeing and health of people living with chronic disease. An OT assesses a range of strategies and helps with arranging equipment for simple home modifications to meet each client’s goals for daily living.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

A Recovery Coach supports clients to enable them to take control of their recovery journey. We work with you, your family, carers and other services to implement individual recovery plans based on your needs, strengths and preferences. We work with you to increase motivation, individual strengths, and decision-making skills. We build supportive relationships and can provide additional support during times of crisis when most needed.

Mental Health and Psychosocial Disabilities

We support clients with psychosocial disabilities by providing individualized interventions to increase a person’s independence in everyday activities. We help you develop coping strategies to assist you to cope with or overcome mental health issues and improve self-confidence to participate in social situations. Support can be provided in the home or in the community.

Aged Care

By offering targeted therapy to assist aged people we maximise their independence in tasks needed for daily living and increase their safety, mobility, and confidence. This improves enjoyment of life both in the home and community. By obtaining therapy, people may be able to avoid unnecessary hospital visits and delay nursing home admissions. Support can be provided in the home or in the community.

Intellectual and Physical Disabilities

M4O helps people with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities to find easier and practical ways to do everyday tasks. Therapy improves independence in selfcare, school, work, social and leisure activities. Support can be provided in the home or in the community.
