Townsville City Council’s Emergency Management Team, in partnership with the State Emergency Service (SES), is pleased to be part of this year’s Regional Disability Expo. We are here to support our community by sharing practical, accessible information to help you feel confident and better prepared ahead of the high-risk weather season.
People with disability, seniors, carers, and anyone who may need additional support during emergencies are encouraged to visit our stall. Our team will be available to talk through simple steps you can take to improve your preparedness, stay informed, and reduce risk during severe weather events such as cyclones, flooding, and heatwaves.
We will also be introducing Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP); a practical planning approach that helps individuals, families, and support networks identify their strengths, needs, and supports before, during, and after an emergency. P-CEP supports people to make informed decisions and develop a preparedness plan that reflects their unique circumstances.
Come and chat with us about emergency planning, local hazards, and the support available from Council and the SES. Whether you are just starting to think about preparedness or looking to refine an existing plan, we are here to help you build confidence, capability, and resilience.
Visit us at the expo and take the next step toward being safer, supported, and ready this disaster season.
